Artist Resume

Jessica Hachmeister is a local artist primarily interested in creating large abstract paintings and more recently woodworking.  Finding a way to combine both passions has evolved into paintings that have characteristics of wood and wooden pedestals that are pieces of art.  She has been working out of her studio on the Lower Green in Newbury for the past 17 years and before that out of her studio in Seattle, Washington.  Her art experience has developed over years of living and learning in several places including Mexico, Cuba, Italy, Germany, and Switzerland.

“My interest in art as a life journey began when as a young girl, I was exposed to some of the world’s most beautiful museums when my parents were living in Europe.  I continued that journey by studying art during my high school years in Mexico City and Switzerland then in college…Cal Western, Villa Mercede, Miami University, Boston University, Cornish and Pratt in Seattle, University of Washington, and Boston Museum school.”

Jessica Hachmeister has been a professional artist for over 30 years showing and selling her work primarily in the Seattle and Boston metropolitan areas. During this period, she has operated her own studios in Washington State on scenic Bainbridge Island and later in the Belltown District of Seattle. In 2007, she moved to the Olde Towne section of Newbury, Massachusetts and now operates her current studio in a 200-year-old farm house near the Parker River and the historic 1635 Newbury Lower Green.
